Heather Hughes was born and raised in WV surrounded by godly grandparents and great-grandparents.  She moved to NC in 1992 and pursued careers in biology, nursing, marketing and business until she found what she feels is God’s true calling in childcare upon becoming a mother in 2003.

Heather came to SRBC in 2009  and has served in our children’s ministry as small group leader for 2nd and 3rd grades before taking the position of Childcare Coordinator in 2017.  Heather says in her ministry of our children she has drawn closer to God and through this service He has strengthened her relationship with Christ.

She enjoys singing in the choir, reading, gardening and preserving food. She is married to Stacey Hughes and has 6 children; Jacob, William, Ty, Emmalea, Levi and Ava and a grandson due in October 2020.
