Associate Pastor for Seniors and Missions

Randy Swisher was born in Waynesboro Va. And grew up in the country community of Dooms just outside of Waynesboro. He was saved by God’s grace through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on a weekday evening in June of 1978, followed by sinners baptism July 2, 1978

Randy married Jeri, his high school sweetheart and best friend in July of 1973 and they have been married 45 years. They have three children Heather, Kelly, and RandyII, also four grandchildren Katy, Mikayla, Chloe, and Blake.

Age has no boundaries, God can and will use anyone who is willing to humble themselves.

Randy has been attending SRBC since 1994. He has been teaching a small group class for over 20 years, starting with youth through adults. He loves teaching through the Bible in his small group and challenging people to dig deeper into what God’s word says (Acts 17:11)

He has served as a Deacon here since 1998 and has planned, organized, and participated in over 19 mission trips to Alaska, Maine, New Mexico, Colorado, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Cuba.

He retired in August of 2018 after 40 years in the trucking industry. He has been blessed to visit Canada, Mexico and every state except North Dakota, and Hawaii during his career. Loves to share and tell people about the beauty of God’s creation. Since retiring in August of 2018 he has been able to resume the hobby of building plastic and wooden model trains, planes, and trucks.

He enjoys cruising in our 1967 Galaxie and meeting others who have an interest in classic automobiles. Jeri and he like to travel so in September 2018 they went to London for a few days and got to visit The British Museum (he enjoys reading & studying about history) before boarding a cruise ship and sailing back across the Atlantic. They are hoping in the future to drive to the west coast of America and up to Alaska.

Pastor Randy has seen God open lots of doors and close some. He believes that each Christ follower is in the ministry to share Christ and to serve others. He enjoys getting people out of their comfort zone and using the talents God has given them. Being involved in some type of missions is where that person will discover the talent that God has blessed them with to serve others
